Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years as of the last date of application (21.07.2025).
Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC and other eligible categories as per Government of India norms.

Educational Qualification

All positions require a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying degree.

Post 1 (Seismology): Master's degree in Seismology/Geophysics/Earth Science or equivalent.
Post 2 (Potential Field Geophysics): Master's degree in Geophysics/Earth Science or equivalent with specialization in potential fields.
Post 3 (Near Surface Geophysics): Master's degree in Geophysics/Earth Science or equivalent.
Post 4 (Igneous Petrology/Geochemistry): Master's Degree in Geology/Earth Science or equivalent.
Post 5 (Metamorphic Petrology/Structural Geology): Master's Degree in Geology/Earth Science or equivalent.
Post 6 (Sedimentology): Master's Degree in Geology/Earth Science or equivalent.
Post 7 (Marine Geology & Oceanography): Master's Degree with specialization in Marine Geology/ Physical Oceanography/Ocean Engineering/Coastal Engineering or equivalent.
Post 8 (Environmental Chemistry/Hydrogeology): Master's Degree in Chemistry/Environmental Science/Earth Science or equivalent.
Post 9 (Atmospheric Sciences): Master's Degree in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology/Climate Sciences/Physics or equivalent.
Post 10 (Civil Engineering): B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

Note: For all Project Scientist-I posts, candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis can also apply. Experience in the relevant field and a PhD are desirable for most posts.
