Vacancy Details

The recruitment is for a total of 100 Forest Section Officer vacancies in the A.P. Forest Subordinate Service. The distribution is as follows:

  • Fresh Vacancies: 70

Application Fees

Candidates from other states must pay both the processing and examination fees.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years
    (as on 01/07/2025)

Age Relaxation:

  • SC, ST, BC, and EWS: 5 years
  • SC/ST candidates for CF vacancies: 10 years

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University in India with one of the following subjects:

  • Botany or
  • Forestry or
  • Horticulture or
  • Zoology or
  • Physics or
  • Chemistry or
  • Mathematics or
  • Statistics or
  • Geology or
  • Agriculture

OR

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Physical Requirements

For Men:

  • Height: Not less than 163 cms
  • Chest: Not less than 84 cms round the chest on full inspiration, with a chest expansion of at least 5 cms.

For Women:

  • Height: Not less than 150 cms
  • Chest: Not less than 79 cms round the chest on full inspiration, with a chest expansion of at least 5 cms.

Walking Test:

  • Male Candidates: Must complete 25 Kms in 4 hours.
  • Female Candidates: Must complete 16 Kms in 4 hours.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on a multi-stage process:

  1. Screening Test: An objective-type (OMR-based) preliminary test will be conducted if the number of applicants is high.
  2. Main Examination: Candidates shortlisted from the Screening Test will appear for the Main Examination (Objective type).
  3. Physical & Medical Tests: Candidates must qualify in a walking test and meet the prescribed physical and medical standards.
  4. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): Candidates who qualify in the above stages will be shortlisted for the CPT, which is a qualifying test.
  5. Final Merit: The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination, subject to qualification in all other tests.

How to Apply

  1. OTPR Registration: Candidates must first register through the One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) on the APPSC website to get a User ID. If already registered, you can log in directly.
  2. Login: Log in to the APPSC website using your OTPR ID and password.
  3. Select Notification: Click on "Online Application Submission" and select the notification for the Forest Section Officer post.
  4. Fill Application Form: Fill in the application-specific details like Local/Non-Local status, and verify all pre-populated data from your OTPR profile.
  5. Fee Payment: Proceed to the payment gateway and pay the application fee online using a Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
  6. Submit Application: After successful payment, your application will be submitted.
  7. Download and Print: Download a copy of the submitted application form for your future reference.
