Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
The upper age limit as on the last date of submission of online application (05/09/2025) is:
- Scientist: 32 years
- Senior Scientist: 37 years
- Principal Scientist: 45 years
Note: Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
Educational Qualification
A brief overview of the required qualifications is provided below. Candidates are advised to read the official notification for detailed post-wise requirements.
- Scientist (PC-01 to PC-16): ME/M.Tech or PhD (submitted) in the relevant discipline such as Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Neuro Sciences, Life Sciences, etc., depending on the specific post code.
- Principal Scientist (PC-17): MBBS + PhD with 3 years' experience OR MD in a relevant field with 5 years' experience.
- Senior Scientist (PC-18): MBBS + PhD OR MD in a relevant field with 3 years' experience.
Selection Process
The selection process involves shortlisting candidates followed by an interview. The Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria for shortlisting, which may be based on:
- Higher educational qualifications.
- Desirable experience and qualifications.
- Research publications, patents filed.
- A written test/seminar.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The final decision of the Appointing Authority will be binding.
