Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Professional Assistant: 35 years
- Sports Coach: 35 years
- Semi Professional Assistant: 32 years
- Library Assistant: 32 years
- Accompanists / Player (All posts): 45 years
Note: Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
Educational Qualification
- Professional Assistant: Master's Degree in Library & Information Science with 02 years' experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Library / Library & Information Science with 03 years' experience.
- Sports Coach: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physical Education with a Diploma in Coaching from NIS, Patiala. Minimum 02 years of coaching experience required.
- Semi Professional Assistant: Master's Degree in Library Science and Information Science OR Bachelor's Degree in the same with 02 years' relevant experience.
- Library Assistant: Bachelor's degree in Library & Information Science or equivalent. Typing speed of 30 wpm is required.
- Accompanists (Harmonium, Mridangam, Sarangi, Tabla, Tanpura, Violin) / Pakhawaj Player: Proficiency in the respective instrument. Degree in the instrument OR Diploma/10+2 with a minimum of 6 years of training under an established Guru.
Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted in two stages:
- Stage 1: Written Test: A Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based written test to shortlist candidates. The syllabus varies for each post.

Stage 2: Skill Test / Main Exam:
- For Assistant posts: A descriptive Main Examination followed by a qualifying Skill Test.
- For Sports Coach and Accompanist posts: A qualifying Skill Test to assess practical abilities.
The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Stage 1 Written Test (for Coach/Accompanist) or Stage 2 Main Exam (for Assistant posts). The Skill Test is qualifying in nature.
