Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
(as on 01.01.2025)
- For MBBS Graduates: Not more than 36 years.
- For Post Graduate Graduates: Not more than 40 years.
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PWD: Upper age limit is 45 years.
- Relaxation is also available for doctors who have served under the State Government, as per official rules.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess an MBBS degree included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Must have registration as a Medical Practitioner in the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council.
- Note: Selected candidates must register their name in the West Bengal Medical Council within six months of joining.
Selection Process
The selection will be a direct recruitment process based on marks awarded for:
- Academic Qualification: 70 marks
- Experience: 15 marks
- Interview: 15 marks
The Board may decide to hold a Written Examination or Computer Based Test (CBT) at a later stage if required.
