Application Fees

The application fee consists of two parts: an Examination Fee and Recruitment Processing Charges.

  • For Male candidates of UR, EWS, and OBC categories:
    • Examination Fee: ₹100
    • Recruitment Processing Charges: ₹550
    • Total: ₹650
  • For All SC/ST candidates, all Female candidates, and Ex-servicemen (eligible for reservation):
    • Examination Fee: NIL
    • Recruitment Processing Charges: ₹550
    • Total: ₹550

Note: Ex-servicemen who have already secured government employment after availing reservation benefits must pay the full fee of ₹650.

Eligibility Criteria

All eligibility criteria will be determined as of the closing date, 10.08.2025.

Age Limit

  • General Age Limit: 18 to 27 years.

Upper Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Departmental Candidates: Up to 40 years of age (with 3 years of regular service).
  • Widows, Divorced Women, and Judicially Separated Women (Not Remarried):
    • Up to 35 years for UR category.
    • Up to 38 years for OBC category.
    • Up to 40 years for SC/ST category.
  • Ex-Servicemen & Meritorious Sportspersons: As per Central Government rules.

Educational Qualification

  • Essential Qualification: Candidates must have a Graduation degree or its equivalent from a recognized university. The final result must be declared on or before the closing date of 10.08.2025.
  • Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of computers.

Scheme of Examination & Selection Process

The selection process will be conducted in three stages:

Tier-I Examination (100 Marks)

  • Type: Objective Type MCQs
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Max Marks: 100
  • Structure: The paper is divided into 5 parts, with 20 questions of 1 mark each:
    • Current Affairs
    • General Studies
    • Numerical Aptitude
    • Reasoning/Logical Aptitude
    • English
  • Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of ¼ mark for each incorrect answer.
  • Cut-off Marks (out of 100): UR-35, OBC-34, SC/ST-33, EWS-35.

Tier-II Examination (50 Marks)

  • Type: Descriptive Paper
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Max Marks: 50
  • Structure:
    • Essay (20 marks)
    • English Comprehension & Précis writing (10 marks)
    • Long answer type questions on Current Affairs, Economics, Socio-political issues, etc. (2 questions of 10 marks each - 20 marks)
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure a minimum of 33% (17 out of 50).

Tier-III / Interview (100 Marks)

Candidates shortlisted based on their combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II will be called for the Interview.

Selection Process

  1. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Tier-II exam at a rate of 10 times the number of vacancies, based on their performance and normalization of marks in the Tier-I exam.
  2. Based on the combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, candidates will be shortlisted for the Tier-III/Interview at a rate of 5 times the number of vacancies, provided they have scored the minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II.
  3. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance of the candidate in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III/Interview.

Salary and Allowances

  • Pay Scale: Level 7 of the pay matrix (₹44,900 - ₹1,42,400).
  • Allowances: In addition to the basic pay, the post carries other admissible Central Government allowances and:
    1. Special Security Allowance: 20% of the basic pay.
    2. Cash Compensation: In lieu of duty performed on holidays, subject to a ceiling of 30 days per year.

How to Apply

  1. Candidates must apply ONLINE through the MHA official website mha.gov.in or the NCS portal ncs.gov.in.
  2. The application portal will be active from 19.07.2025 to 10.08.2025 (23:59 hours).
  3. Before starting, keep your valid email ID, mobile number, and scanned copies of your recent photograph (100-200KB) and signature (80-150KB) ready.
  4. Register by providing your personal and contact details. A Login ID and password will be sent to your registered mobile number and email.
  5. Re-login and fill in the application form with your personal, educational, and other details.
  6. Carefully select five (5) choices for the Examination City. This choice cannot be changed later.
  7. Upload the scanned photograph and signature as per the specified format.
  8. Proceed to the payment gateway (SBI EPAY LITE) to pay the application fee. Payment can be made online or through an SBI Challan.
  9. After successful payment, print the final application form for your records. Do not press the Back or Refresh button during the payment process.
