Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
(as on 01.08.2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years (for most posts)
- Maximum Age for AAO (Chartered Accountant & Legal): 32 years
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
Educational Qualification
- AAO (Generalist): Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution.
- AE (Civil): B.Tech/B.E. (Civil) from an AICTE recognized institution with a minimum of three years of post-qualification work experience.
- AE (Electrical): B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical) from an AICTE recognized institution with a minimum of three years of post-qualification work experience.
- AAO (Chartered Accountant): Bachelor's Degree and passed the Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The candidate should be an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
- AAO (Company Secretary): Bachelor's Degree and a Qualified Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
- AAO (Actuarial): Bachelor's Degree in any discipline and must have passed at least 6 papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / UK.
- AAO (Insurance Specialists): Bachelor's Degree and Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India (Life), with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in Life Insurance Companies.
- AAO (Legal): Bachelor's degree in Law with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD). Must be enrolled with the Bar Council as an Advocate with at least two years of experience.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be done through a three-tiered process:
- Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online Objective Test)
- Phase-II: Main Examination (Online Objective + Descriptive Test)

Phase-III: Interview
Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination and the Interview, followed by a Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination.
How to Apply
- Visit the official LIC website at www.licindia.in and click on the 'Careers' link. Find the link "Recruitment of AAO (Generalists/ Specialists/ Assistant Engineers) 2025"
- Scroll down, and click on Apply Online button.
- Choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter your basic details like Name, Contact number, and Email-id.
- A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated and sent to your email and mobile.
- Log in and fill out the application form with all the required details.
- Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration as per the specified format.
- Pay the application fee online using Debit/Credit Card, Internet Banking, etc.
- Verify all details before final submission and take a printout of the application form and e-receipt for future reference.
